I am happy to follow such great men and women and to serve and support literacy development in our community.  Two of our projects this year will includ special focus on:

• Increasing communication and collaboration among all literacy caretakers of our Leon County population. 
•  Increasing support for and participation of secondary students and teachers.

We have had and still have more many wonderful activities planned for 2011-2012 including our  Fall Membership Party, Narrative Writing Contest, Poetry Jam, and  Fall and/or Spring workshops.   Your support is a key to our mission.

We are currently in need of volunteers to join committees.  Please contact me at thereadingkeeper@gmail.com if you would like to take an active role in our Council.

APRIL 2012

April is Membership Drive month!  If you have not yet joined our wonderful organization, now is the time.  The school with the highest percentage of membership by April 30, will win the traveling literacy statue for the 2012-2013 school year.  See your Building Rep today or submit your membership as noted on this page.  The winning school will be recognized at our May banquet.  So don't delay!
